OUGD403 - Message and Delivery : Research Revived

After my crit I decided to change the focus of my research task to make it more focused on one subject. I have chosen stereotypes with particular focus on domestic violence and male and female representations.

James Bond is famous for his whit and charm with the ladies. It is common in each Bond movie for James to be with more than one woman. The franchise has not only become so popular because of the character but also the Bond girls and villains.

When people picture a Bond girl they usually see a gorgeous, slim and sexy woman who is wearing either very little or a beautiful ball gown. Bond girls are an example of a stereotypical representation of a woman being a sex symbol.

This idea has also found its way onto some of the cover art for Ian Fleming's novels with each title inside a woman's body.

Women in Bond movies are also represented as a damsel in distress, this is common in a lot of films. I found a story about Rihanna and Chris Brown which paints Rihanna as the victim and Chris as the villain. This is another common stereotype used in the media.
